Dialog Hosts Another ‘Smart women and a brighter future’ Workshop in Kalutara

Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, hosted another workshop in Kaluthara as a part of its ‘Smart women and a brighter future’ initiative, in its efforts of empowering women to adopt technology in their lives.

Fifty women between the ages of 19 and 60 participated in this informative event designed exclusively for women to discuss the barriers they face in using mobile money services, using the internet via their smartphones and on reducing the gender gap in smartphone use and digitalisation. The second objective is to empower women by connecting them with technology to enable access to information and improve their lives.

The workshops consist of several practical sessions including an introduction to the internet, how to access the internet, web tools, downloading and using mobile phone applications, practical sessions on internet connectivity and application usage, smart devices, data usage and cost, how to use MyDialog app, how to access internet smartly and safely, how to ensure the safety of their children online, advice for personal development and entrepreneurship via the internet, and what to do and not do when using a mobile phone.
