2010-11-18 15:35:23         Colombo

Dialog Enterprise achieved a key milestone as the premier provider of customised international connectivity in Sri Lanka when it commissioned a high-capacity international circuit with end-to-end optical fiber connectivity to the London Stock Exchange PLC (LSE).

LSE’s acquisition of Millennium IT (MIT) in Sri Lanka further strengthened its position as a leading global stock exchange solution provider. Dialog’s Global IPVPN solution is powered by its strategic Points of Presence (POP) in London, and is connected via the SEAMEWE4 undersea cable. It will facilitate seamless data communication between LSE and MIT providing functional efficiency and reduced operational costs.

Dialog Enterprise successfully commissioned this high capacity (40Mb) secure link using its rapidly expanding optical fiber-based metro ethernet technology, extending seamless connectivity to the MIT facilities in Malabe, Sri Lanka. The reliability of the solution was reinforced using a redundant high capacity last mile wireless solution to ensure that customer performance objectives of this mission critical operation are maintained on a 24×7 basis.

Tony Weeresinghe, Chief Executive Officer of MillenniumIT and a London Stock Exchange Group Executive Committee member said:”Our goal at MillenniumIT is to continually improve the Group’s competitiveness, both by providing leading edge technology products and also by progressively offering services from Colombo to support the operation of transactional and enterprise technologies. To provide these services, and to support inter-group communications generally, we need robust, cost effective connectivity from a supplier we can trust. I am pleased to say that our relationship with Dialog Enterprise has been fruitful and pragmatic and to date the service has fully met our expectations.” Speaking about the partnership Mr. Suresh Sidhu, Chief Officer-Enterprise & Global Business of Dialog Axiata said: “We’re delighted that a reputed global stock exchange solution provider such as the London Stock Exchange chose Dialog’s managed services to provide international connectivity to Sri Lanka to enable them to maximise their investment in MillenniumIT. We are confident that the investments Dialog has made through its Metro Ethernet Fiber project will provide our customers with the fast, reliable and cost effective solutions that allow them to be competitive in the markets they choose to serve.”
