Overseas Worker Remittances Direct to Mobile on World Award Winning eZ Cash

Sri Lanka’s pioneering mobile money service, eZ Cash, now enables subscribers to receive foreign remittances to their eZ Cash mobile wallet. eZ Cash – the world’s first inter-operable mobile payment system - is available to 14 million Dialog, Etisalat and Hutch subscribers in Sri Lanka, and the ability to electronically receive money to their mobile phone from anywhere in the world will significantly enhance the convenience of receiving inward remittances.

Inward Foreign remittances to eZ Cash mobile wallets has been made possible via the partnership between eZ Cash and HomeSend, a joint venture created by MasterCard, eServGlobal and BICS (Belgarcom International Carrier Services) that enables cross-border and cross-network value transfers.

The partnership allows persons resident overseas to transfer funds direct to an eZ Cash mobile money account facilitating cash out at participating locations.

This is the first time a mobile money service in Sri Lanka is enabling foreign remittance services, and with its island wide reach and over 16,000-plus agent locations, eZ Cash continues to revolutionise mobile payments in Sri Lanka. eZ Cash services also include utility payments, institutional payments and domestic money transfer facilities. The foreign remittance facility via eZ Cash provides a secure and instant means of fund transfer to Sri Lanka from anywhere in the world.
