Sri Lankans Vote Dialog as the Service Brand, Youth Choice - Service Brand and Telecommunication Brand of the Year

Sri Lankan consumers voted Dialog as the ‘Service Brand of the Year’, ‘Youth Choice – Service Brand of the Year’, and for a record ninth year running, the ‘Telecommunication Brand of the Year’ at the prestigious SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards 2020. Voted for by the public to recognise brands that have made a profound impression in the minds of the people of Sri Lanka, the Peoples Awards crowns the brands that have captured the hearts of the people.

The ’Service Brand of the Year’ award which recognises the best service provider across service industries including banking, insurance, leasing, hospitality, healthcare, travel, telecommunications and more, is a testament to the diverse range of inclusive and accessible services offered by Dialog, which has been a catalyst in driving Sri Lanka’s digital transformation. This, along with the Company’s dedication towards delivering service from the heart, places customer experience and service delivery excellence at the centre of Dialog’s work ethic and corporate ethos.

The ‘Youth Choice – Service Brand of the Year’ award celebrates brand loyalty amid consumer trends and is a recognition by the youth of Sri Lanka who have chosen the top brand of all the service providers across industries, voting for a brand that they feel best unites them and form the nation’s overarching experiences. Dialog remains determined to push the boundaries to provide the latest technological advancements and pioneer initiatives and product and service offerings that empower the spirit of the new generation. This award is also a reflection of the efforts of the company to unite the nation’s youth through entertainment and artistic movements with popular youth artistes. Moreover, Dialog’s commitment to empowering the champions of tomorrow as the nation’s prolific promoter of sports not only brings communities together but also acts as a beacon of hope for the youth.

Dialog was also awarded the ‘Telecommunication Brand of the Year’ for a record ninth year running; recognising the delivery on its commitment of empowering and enriching Sri Lankan lives and enterprises. The three awards presented at the SLIM – Nielsen Peoples Awards that were voted on for by the people of Sri Lanka along with the recognition of being awarded ‘Sri Lanka’s Most Valuable Consumer Brand’ by Brand Finance embodies the brand’s virtues of consistently enabling a connected future for every Sri Lankan by delivering The Future.Today.

This year was the fourteenth consecutive year of the ‘SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards’. It is organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka, together with one of the leading research agencies in the country, Nielsen Company Lanka. The awardees for various categories are chosen solely by people’s votes through a nationwide quantitative face to face research conducted by Nielsen Sri Lanka covering males and females between the ages of 15 to 60 years, over a period of five months using a structured questionnaire. The Awards recognize brands and personalities that personally appeal to the minds of the people of Sri Lanka.
