Marians Unplugged
April 2, 2016
Marians has been entertaining audiences for over 25 years and on the 2nd April 2016, they yet again worked their own brand of melodious magic for an enthralled Club Vision audience at the Musaeus College Auditorium. Marians Unplugged, a special annual show that started in 2006, is known for its innovation and versatility. This year, they made it even more exciting with the help of featured artist Amal Perera. The songs played were a mixture of Sri Lankan and English songs, both covers of popular favorites and the band’s original music. The popularity of the band led to Club Vision members being offered two tickets, completely free of charge, so they could bring along a friend or family member.
Marians’ polished charm won the audience over swiftly, resulting in people clapping or singing along to the songs. At one point, the gregarious singers invited the audience to join them on the stage, leading to some courageous Sri Lankan girls heading up to the stage to dance along to the songs. This level of personal interaction is a rarity in the world of musical entertainment, especially from a band as renowned as Marians, and it made the evening spectacularly memorable.
