Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka's #1 connectivity provider, has partnered with John Keells Office Automation (JKOA), backed by John Keells Holdings, to launch the JKOA Classic 4G, extending affordable 4G handsets to Sri Lanka’s feature phone users. The collaboration supports customers transitioning to next-generation mobile networks while retaining the simplicity and familiarity of a feature-phone experience
Introduced under the theme “Powering Tomorrow Together” at JKOA’s Mobile Launch and Dealer Gathering at the Courtyard by Marriott Colombo on 7 September, the JKOA Classic 4G combines 4G connectivity with the simplicity of a familiar feature phone. Priced at Rs. 7,990, the device features a 1.77-inch display, 1,000mAh battery, Sinhala, Tamil and English typing, FM radio, built-in torch, 16MB + 16MB internal memory and Type-C charging. As part of the offering, customers can also enjoy 250 minutes to any network for 3 months on the Dialog network.
“As Sri Lanka’s mobile landscape evolves, our focus is on ensuring that the benefits of advancing connectivity remain accessible to more Sri Lankans. The transition to 4G is not only about network evolution, but also about enabling customers to embrace 4G in ways that are practical and relevant to them. Our collaboration with JKOA helps bridge this gap for feature phone users, supporting broader 4G adoption while ensuring that more Sri Lankans can benefit from the country’s digital progress,” said Lim Li San, Group Chief Operating Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC.
The partnership combines Dialog’s connectivity capabilities with JKOA’s device expertise to help broaden access to 4G beyond the smartphone segment. By addressing the needs of consumers who continue to rely on feature phones, the collaboration supports a more inclusive progression towards next-generation connectivity across Sri Lanka.
The JKOA Classic 4G is currently available at JKOA showrooms and through authorised dealers islandwide, making it easily accessible to customers across Sri Lanka.
