Dialog Axiata Strengthens its Commitment to Data Security & Privacy with ISO 27701

First Telco in Sri Lanka to be Accredited for ISO Standard on Privacy Information Management System

Dialog Axiata PLC recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first telecommunications service provider in the country and among the select few in South Asia to be awarded the ISO 27701 certification, the internationally recognised standard for Privacy Information Management Systems.

An extension to ISO 27001 accreditation, ISO 27701 sets additional controls on data privacy and provides guidance for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving an organisation’s Privacy Information Management System. The ISO 27701 standard offers a comprehensive framework for Privacy Information Management Systems (PIMS), enabling organisations to refine their data privacy practices and adapt to evolving privacy threats and regulatory requirements. This approach is anchored in robust risk management and compliance principles, with a strong emphasis on measuring progress and fostering continuous improvement.
