Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s #1 connectivity provider, proudly sponsors the historic Kataragama Esala Perahera for the 20th consecutive year, reaffirming its enduring commitment to preserving Sri Lanka’s rich religious and cultural heritage through long-standing community partnerships and national initiatives.

Held from 26th June to 11th July 2025, the Kataragama Esala Perahera is one of the most revered and vibrant religious festivals in the country, centred around the sacred Ruhunu Kataragama Devalaya. Dialog’s two-decade patronage of this ancient tradition underlines its continued efforts to support national culture and uphold spiritual values. Among the festival’s many observances, the Esala Maha Perahera holds special prominence, commemorating the symbolic union of the deity Kataragama (Kanda Surindhu) and Valli Amma. The festival reaches its culmination on 11th July with the Diya Kepima — the sacred water-cutting ceremony at the revered Manik Ganga.

As a key advocate of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, Dialog’s sponsorship highlights its ongoing commitment to uplifting the nation’s artistic and religious practices. Through its support, the company remains a crucial force in the preservation and propagation of the island's deeply rooted traditions, cementing its role as a leader in promoting both technological and cultural advancement.

Dialog has also been a long-term patron of many significant events, including the Gangaramaya Navam Maha Perahara, Baudhaloka Vesak Kalapaya, Kelani Duruthu Maha Perahara and Gatabaru Esala Perahara. These efforts align with the company’s initiatives to preserve Sri Lanka’s heritage, including constructing the vestibule for the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, launching a website and directory of Amarapura Maha Nikaya Temples, and restoring the Anuradhapura Maha Vihara Sannipatha Shalawa.
