September 27th, 2022 Colombo
In recognition of its efforts of uplifting the Sri Lankan healthcare sector, the Doc990 Clinic Solution by Sri Lanka’s pioneering digital health solutions service provider, powered by Dialog Axiata PLC, was awarded the Health-Tech Award under the category Telecare at the 5th Commonwealth Digital Health Awards (CWDHA) by the Commonwealth Centre for Digital Health.
The Doc990 Clinic Solution is a channelling platform that was extended free of charge to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) which comprises a convenient ‘1390’ toll-free, trilingual channelling hotline (from any mobile network). This solution was an integral step forward in the digitisation journey of LRH, allowing patients to reap the benefits of a remote doctor channelling service from across Sri Lanka. The LRH annually serves over 445,000 patients in over 40 clinics. As a value addition to the hospital’s processes, the Doc990 channelling system enables staff to manage doctor-patient appointments, enabling a convenient doctor channelling experience for both patients and the hospital’s staff.
Speaking on this recognition, Renuka Fernando, Group Chief Digital Services Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC, stated “With an exponential increase in digital health innovations during the height of the pandemic and much after, Doc990 is humbled and honoured to have been recognised as the winner of the Telecare category at the 5th edition of the globally recognised CWDHA. In times of volatility and uncertainty, Doc990 is pleased to facilitate all Sri Lankans with progressive digital health technology that will enable them to face the new normal with convenience and confidence”
