The 12 member Sri Lanka youth netball team (U21) left Sri Lanka shores on the 6th of June 2023 to vie for top honours at the Asian Youth Netball Championship 2023 which is scheduled to be played in South Korea from June 17 – 20, 2023.

The National Youth team will be led by the goal shooter, Sajini Rathnayaka and Sri Lanka, who are competing in Group B will play their games against Singapore, Brunei, Taiwan, South Korea and Pakistan while Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, India and Maldives will compete under Pool ‘A’.

Sri Lanka National Youth Team will play their first game against Korea on 11th June and will continue to play against Brunei on 12th June, Singapore on 13th June and Chinese Taipei on the 14th of June to secure spot in the k/o stage of the tourney.

According to the history of Youth Asian netball competitions, Sri Lanka has won the Asian youth netball championship in the year 1998, 2002 and 2015.
