Dialog Axiata in Partnership with Media Stations Distribute Dry Rations in Many Districts

Continuing its community relief efforts to help Sri Lankans through these challenging times and upholding its social responsibilities as an upstanding corporate citizen, Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, joined hands with Manusath Derana, Siyatha Lengathukama, ITN Manushyathwayei Sathkaraya, and Vasantham TV/FM initiatives, placing humanity above all else.

The ‘Manusath Derana with Dialog’, ‘Siyatha Lengathukama with Dialog’, ‘ITN Manushyathwayei Sathkaraya with Dialog’ and ‘Vasantham TV/FM with Dialog’ initiatives have distributed packages of dry rations daily, to over 73,232 people in 270 villages across 13 districts in the island as at 16th April, and will continue to help families that are most in need and unable to obtain even the most basic food necessities during this prevailing situation in the country. Rs. 50 Million in total has been contributed by Dialog for these ongoing initiatives. The disbursement of the packaged rations is being facilitated with the help of the Police and religious leaders, together with representatives of Dialog, Derana, Siyatha, ITN and Vasantham.

During this unprecedented time, Dialog has also enabled MOH to create 27 video-based telemedicine units in 20 hospitals, facilitated free WiFi and Dialog Television connections to all quarantine centres managed by the Tri-forces and Police, contributed free critical internet connectivity solutions for video conference facilities and mobile devices to IDH, donated essential PPE kits to Kalubowila and Negombo Hospitals and provided connectivity solutions and devices to the National Child Protection Authority to establish a Remote National Psycho-Social Support Service (RNPSSS).

This donation is one of the many ongoing initiatives being conducted by Dialog to support the national efforts in combating the Coronavirus pandemic in Sri Lanka. Additionally, a variety of accessible e-Connect, e-Learn, e-Health, e-Tainment, e-Care and e-Work solutions (accessible via https://www.dialog.lk/home) have been facilitated to over 15 million of its customers and the public, in its efforts of ensuring that Sri Lankans stay safe, stay home and always stay connected.
