Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka's #1 connectivity provider, continues its commitment to empowering athletes by supporting the Jaffna Paralympic Talent Identification Programme, aiming to discover and develop exceptional athletes for the 2026 Asian Games, underlining its dedication to Paralympic sports and national representation on the global stage.

The Talent Identification Programme, which took place on January 24th, forms part of Dialog’s ongoing partnership with the National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NPC). This initiative follows the success of the previous programme in Matara, which identified potential athletes excelling in sports such as athletics, badminton, table tennis, powerlifting, rowing, wheelchair tennis, swimming, and archery. By providing vital resources and support, the company remains a key contributor to the success of Paralympic athletes in Sri Lanka.

Sharing his views, Lieutenant Colonel Deepal Herath said, “For the past 25 years, we have worked hand in hand with Dialog Axiata, and today, we have successfully organized the first-ever Paralympic Talent Identification Programme in the Jaffna district. This initiative has brought together individuals with disabilities from across the district, introducing them to Para Sports. It was truly a remarkable and historic occasion. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved in the Paralympic Talent Identification Programme and commend the exceptional talent and skills showcased by the participants. We also express our profound gratitude to Dialog Axiata for their unwavering support in making this initiative a success.”

“Dialog has been a long-time supporter of national sports in Sri Lanka, with a special focus on nurturing talent across all disciplines. Our commitment to Paralympic athletes is unwavering, and we are proud to continue empowering them with the resources and support they need to shine internationally, particularly with our focus on the 2026 Asian Games,” commented Harsha Samaranayake, Vice President - Brand and Media at Dialog Axiata PLC.

The company’s sustained commitment to the development of Paralympic sports in Sri Lanka, alongside its support for a range of national sports such as cricket, volleyball, netball, and esports, reinforces its dedication to the nation’s athletes. Through its partnerships with the NPC and other initiatives like the President’s Gold Cup Volleyball and national netball and rugby tournaments, Dialog ensures athletes receive the recognition, training, and support needed to shine on both national and international stages, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
